From new HVAC installations to fast repairs, system replacements, zoning, thermostats, and indoor air quality improvements, Fire & Ice Air Conditioning & Heating delivers reliable comfort for your home in every season.
Your furnace stops working on a January night. Your air conditioner quits during the first heat wave of the summer. Or someone tells you the whole system has to go, and you are left wondering whether that is really true. At Fire & Ice Air Conditioning & Heating, we are a family-owned HVAC company in Elgin, IL that exists for exactly those moments. We diagnose the real problem, explain your options in plain English, and do the work right the first time, so you can make a confident decision about your home’s heating and cooling.
Homes and businesses in Elgin deal with both extremes: subzero cold in the winter and humid heat in the summer. Your heating and cooling equipment works hard all year, and when something goes wrong, you need an HVAC company that takes the time to find the cause instead of guessing. Our owners, Melanie and Jerry Bechtold, built Fire & Ice around careful diagnosis, quality workmanship, and clear communication, and that approach carries into every service we offer.
Repair and installation of ductless mini-split systems for additions, garages, and rooms without ductwork.
We listen to what your air conditioner is doing, confirm we understand the problem, and trace the symptom to its cause before recommending work.
New air conditioner installations, from central air to ductless systems, finished with bundled wiring, properly sealed ductwork where your system uses it, and neatly run drain lines.
Pre-summer system checks that help your air conditioner handle the first hot spell without surprises.
When repair no longer makes sense, we explain why and help you compare equipment options that fit your home.
If your cooling fails and you need help quickly, call us and we will give you an honest idea of when we can get there.
Thorough troubleshooting for furnaces that will not start, cycle on and off, or fail to keep your home warm.
Professional furnace installation and replacement with clean, organized work that looks as good as it runs.
Pre-season inspections and safety checks that help your furnace run reliably through an Illinois winter.
No-heat calls in the coldest weather, including problems like frozen or blocked exhaust vents.
After years of working for other HVAC companies, Melanie and Jerry started Fire & Ice because they wanted a business built around customer satisfaction, support, and quality workmanship. They also wanted to show homeowners that an HVAC company is not just there to take their money.
We are a family-owned and operated HVAC company built on honest work, reliable service, and long-term customer relationships. We proudly provide professional heating and cooling solutions, including installation, repair, replacement, zoning, thermostats, and indoor air quality services.
As a local, family-run business, we treat every home and business with the same care and attention we would our own. Our focus is simple: deliver dependable comfort, quality craftsmanship, and straightforward service you can trust; season after season.
Illinois does not have a statewide HVAC license requirement, so ongoing training is a choice each contractor makes. We attend at least three manufacturer training classes every year and are certified on the newest refrigerant. When equipment and technology change, we change with them.
We install and service equipment from RunTru by Trane, Amana, Goodman, Daikin, and Lennox. If you have a specific brand in mind, we are happy to provide pricing on that equipment as well.
The best way to understand how we work is to hear it from the people we have worked for. Here is what a few of our customers have shared on Google:
You should not have to guess whether an HVAC recommendation is reasonable. At Fire & Ice Air Conditioning & Heating, we take the time to find the real problem, explain your options clearly, and do the job right the first time. Call (815) 529-5967 or book your appointment online today, and work with an HVAC company in Elgin, IL that treats your home the way we would treat our own.
Not necessarily. Age is one factor, but many older systems only need service or replacement parts. We inspect the equipment, explain what we find, and present your repair and replacement options so you can decide.
We provide a one-year labor warranty. Equipment and parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by manufacturer, part, and whether the equipment is registered.
We install RunTru by Trane, Amana, Goodman, Daikin, and Lennox equipment. If you would like a different brand, we can provide pricing on that equipment.
